It doesn't work like that, you dont spend months testing a phone and then just one day decide "why not slap a touchscreen on it." Because then this "final version" would need to be tested all over again and no longer a final version.... The process would have to start all over again and I doubt thats what RIM has in mind for the Tour.

Maybe those units that were tested are pre-production units and RIM decided to include a touchscreen in the final version :)

We'll see when the Tour becomes official.

Hmmm, I'd say this touch screen report is questionable at best. First, with all the leaks from people actually testing the device, how would they possibly have held back this long about a SurePress touch screen. Maybe they didn't want to completely disregard the signed NDA...

Also, being that the spec sheet actually shows 256 MB internal data storage (as reported by numerous rumor mills from the leaked Bell spec sheet) and not 1GB storage as this report claims, I'm not trusting the info.

this will be very interesting to look forward to. The blackberry Niagara might be have a touch screen along with a full querty keyboard.
