Sean you must be crazy, Android is a Open Source OS so what if it doesn't support on screen QWERTY out of the box? Someone can easily build one for it, problems solved. Some say the G1 didn't support multitouch like the iPhone but some skilled developer made it happen so your misleading argument holds no merit.
