Review of the Samsung Omnia II
You wrote: "The handsets are codenamed Bigfoot and Spica and will run on Android v2 codenamed Donut."
Then: "Samsung Spica will be affordably priced mass market device. And it will not use a Google/Android experience for it’s UI. Instead Spica will have Samsung’s own traditional TouchWiz as the main user interface."
Thought I should let you know.
Both Bigfoot and Spica are Android phones - they run on Google Android OS.
TouchWiz is the user interface by Samsung, that goes above OS level and runs
on most Samsung phones - both smartphones and feature phones. It is adapted
for various OSes, e.g Samsung Omnia runs on Windows Mobile, Samsung Omnia HD
runs on Symbian, Samsung UltraTouch runs on Samsungs own OS, All of them
have TouchWiz user interface
(:
Samsung i7500will probably experimental high end device.
Bigfoot, and especially Spica will be affordable mid-end mass market smartphones
Those samsung phones look kind of awful, except for the QWERTY keyboard.
I know THESE phones are theoretical but the I7500 (Galaxy) is available in Europe and from what I understand has cleared FCC. I am about to buy a phone and I've literally been waiting all year for the galaxy to drop state side. Is the Behold 2 the closest we yankees are going to get to a REAL decked out android phone (I'm sticking with Tmo, Verizon can lick the sweatiest part of my taint).
