I am about to buy a phone and I've literally been waiting all year for the galaxy to drop state side. Is the Behold 2 the closest we yankees are going to get to a REAL decked out android phone (I'm sticking with Tmo, Verizon can lick the sweatiest part of my taint).

Re: Samsung Spica and BigFoot Android 2.0/ Donut phone details leaked

I almost want to cry when i think that nokia may never launch a cellphone with android =~
Those samsung phones look kind of awful, except for the QWERTY keyboard.

Re: Samsung Spica and BigFoot Android 2.0/ Donut phone details leaked

Sigh - i was just pondering which phone to get (i want an android based phone this time) and came across this article, now mi back to square one and have no idea what to get.... argh!

Re: Samsung Spica and BigFoot Android 2.0/ Donut phone details leaked

Yes, it is. And that will probably be reflected in price.

Samsung i7500will probably experimental high end device.

Bigfoot, and especially Spica will be affordable mid-end mass market smartphones

Re: Samsung Spica and BigFoot Android 2.0/ Donut phone details leaked

From the specs, it seems that Samsung i7500 is superior than Spica and Bigfoot in servery things.

Re: Samsung Spica and BigFoot Android 2.0/ Donut phone details leaked

oh god, the touchwiz interface is a total waste of space, i would like to have a little "word" with who ever invented that stupid os. it's rediculous. that's all i have to say
(:

Re: Samsung Spica and BigFoot Android 2.0/ Donut phone details leaked

Yes, and? What's wrong with that?

Both Bigfoot and Spica are Android phones - they run on Google Android OS.

TouchWiz is the user interface by Samsung, that goes above OS level and runs
on most Samsung phones - both smartphones and feature phones. It is adapted
for various OSes, e.g Samsung Omnia runs on Windows Mobile, Samsung Omnia HD
runs on Symbian, Samsung UltraTouch runs on Samsungs own OS, All of them
have TouchWiz user interface

Re: Samsung Spica and BigFoot Android 2.0/ Donut phone details leaked

Contradiction:

You wrote: "The handsets are codenamed Bigfoot and Spica and will run on Android v2 codenamed Donut."

Then: "Samsung Spica will be affordably priced mass market device. And it will not use a Google/Android experience for it’s UI. Instead Spica will have Samsung’s own traditional TouchWiz as the main user interface."

Thought I should let you know.
